Telehealth prescribing in Missouri.

Before a Missouri physician can prescribe through telemedicine, state law requires a valid physician-patient relationship: a reliable medical history, an examination where the standard of care requires one, a discussion of treatment options and risks, appropriate follow-up, and medical records kept to the same standard as an in-person appointment. The same law governs prescribing whether the appointment happens by video or in an exam room.

Is it legal for a Missouri provider to prescribe TRT or hormone therapy by telehealth?
Yes. Missouri law lets a physician prescribe through telemedicine once a valid physician-patient relationship is established, including a reliable medical history and, where the standard of care requires it, an exam. The same law applies whether the prescriber sees you by video or in an exam room.
Do I still need lab work if I choose telehealth?
